Getting Started with 3ds Max 2013 - a video guide

The video series isfinished and ready for sale though our site. This course, recorded by both Randi and Dariush, gives a thorough reference for beginners in using Autodesk 3ds Max. The first of 3 in a series, this set covers the basics from the User Interface to modeling techniques and tools.

This first part contains close to 4 hours of videos, wonderfully assembled into bite sized chunks allowing you to reference and learn the parts as you need, or to follow the entire course start to finish.

In this course, we introduce you to this multifaceted software, starting with the interface and how to navigate it. Once you’re comfortable getting around 3ds Max, you’ll learn how to use its many tools to make models with 3D objects, edit polygonal meshes, create surfaces and models with 2D shapes and splines, and more. All of this is presented in the context of a hands-on project where you create a model of an alarm clock.

The video series completed with Ellery Connell through video2brain.com is now on sale. This video is a full survey of Maya and makes for a great introduction to all the different workflows in Maya. YOu can also use the videos as a reference on particular tools or workflows. The way video2brain sets it up is quite nice, where you can pick andchoose the content you're most interested it, and be greeted with an informative and easy to follow 6-9 minute video that gives you the ins and outs of a particular introductory topic and gets you comfortable in Maya very quickly.
